Initiative on Violent Crime

On January 24, 2018, Attorney General Steve Marshall launched a new initiative—the Initiative on Violent Crime—to combat violent crime in Alabama. Over the past few years, violent crime has increased across the state. Today, violent crime is at its highest level in decades.

Criminals . . . should be on notice: We will not tolerate this
menace to our citizens . . . . We will help cities reclaim their
streets, restore the rule of law, and, ultimately, see their
communities revived.

─ ATTORNEY GENERAL STEVE MARSHALL
